Are you referring to either universal of North America or universal property and casualty. Let me know if it is one of those companies because I have some experience with both.

It's a decent program, lots of discounts available, but no multi-line. Good for solo policyholders without autos. They are getting more restrictive with fire-line however.

Universal of North America is not very competitive in Florida. I am still under the assumption we are speaking of different companies. I was not aware they wrote in other states, and is strictly only a homeowners product. They are more competitive on highland homes. Good luck.

We use Universal in NC for monoline home policies. They are becoming VERY popular in our state. I have never had a client experience a claim yet so not sure how they are on claim settlements.

I have heard nothing negative about this so I would assume that no news is good news on this front.

I write for uihna as well. Great hob policy in Texas and insurance credit driven. Know your underwriting rules and guidelines... They are strict. Competitive on ten years and newer!
