I don't know if you guys realize this but United of Omaha and AARP are giving a guarantee issue on their Med supps for those on MAPD plans that want to go back to med supp.

This applies to people that aged in, dropped a med supp or came off of a group plan to an MAPD.

Do you know if that applies to United World too? Several of the good things that United of Omaha gets, United World does not get. If you don't know, I'll call them tomorrow.

I am finding that Alabama is a tough state to sell med supps in - we have a Blue Cross supplement that's fairly low price, issue age, and has scarce rate increases. Oh yeah, and they have either guaranteed issue or very limited underwriting for anybody. They're a not for profit, as I understand.

I'd write the heck out of them on my own if I could, but they have a call center that handles all their enrollment stuff

Even if they had their MAPD plan for more than 12 months?

Are you saying that they are offering 24 month GI for people to come back only or For anyone with an MA to go to AARP med supp regardless of who they were with before????

Not sure what part of Alabama you work in. I'm 15 miles south of the Alabama line. BC/BS of AL. is tough to compete with(med-supps and MAPD). Their MAPD plan in south Alabama is unbeatable in 2009.

Glad 98% of my business is in Florida.

United of Omaha is allowing any client to come from an MAPD to them on a GI issue basis within 24 months, it doesn't matter if they had Bankers Life than a Mapd, they'll take them. You can call and confirm. I can't imagine it would be different from state to state. Call AARP and get confirmation also.
