I have seen some agents on YouTube. Most are really bad. Figured there might be a way to capitalize on it if you have a good message that isn't cheezy.

do a "how to present a HSA for insurance agents" video
.

No video, but I have posted a script of sorts several times on this forum. You can probably find it via the search function.

Here are the basics using real numbers from a real prospect.

Family of 4. Aetna OA 2500 is $935/month; HSA 5000 is $556.

OA has $30 doc & $35 Rx (preferred) after $500 Rx deductible.

"How many times do you go to the doc?"

Husband 1x per year, wife 2x, kids never. There are some meds involved but to keep it simple I won't go into it here. So that is 3+ doc visits per year at $30 each.

"What does it cost you to go to the doc under the copay plan?"

$30.

"No, it actually costs $30 + $379 (premium differential in the two plans) so that visit cost you $409. So how much does it cost when you are healthy and don't go to the doc? The answer is $379."

"So you pay $409 when you go to the doc and $379 when you don't go."

"How much does the copay plan cost when the truck runs over you and you have a $100k hospital bill?"

"The answer is $5,000 ($2500 deductible + $2500 in coinsurance)."

"How much under the HSA? The answer is $5,000."

"So what is the advantage of the copay plan vs the HSA?"

"The carrier allows you to overpay for coverage by $379 per month, $4548 per year, so you can have the same OOP as the HSA but only pay $30 when you go to the doc."

"Such a deal . . ."

Case closed.
