Walk and Talks

My only experience with "walk and talk" was back in 1987 when I first started in the business. A seasoned and extremely successful producer in our agency decided that he was going to take me out for the day and show me how I could prospect. At the time I was pounding the phone cold calling and actually doing pretty well setting appointments. Anyway, we walked around for a good part of the day and spoke with absolutely no one except receptionists. By about 2:00 pm my mentor said the hell with this, and we headed back to the office. I set a couple of appointments making phone cold calls before the end of the day. As they say, let your fingers do the walking was far more successful for me. I can only assume it would be even harder to walk into a business cold today.
