What Are the Real Obamacare Numbers?

Texas is the only great state... and those low fuel prices are just one of the many reasons why....... House is for sale 3 doors down, I can hook you up.. its at 337,000 for about 3600 sq feet

I just put an offer on that house, can't wait to be your neighbor!!

If you are losing 40% (or more) of your customer base every year due to attrition you won't be around long.

I spoke with an agent the other day who targeted people that earned just over the Medicaid eligibility amount (in IL it's roughly $16,500). Even though their out-of-pocket premium was miniscule, every single one of them have lapsed.

Logically it seemed to be a good demographic, but in real-life it was a giant waste of time for this agent. Since she paused Medicare marketing/sales just to certify and focus on enrolling low-income into health insurance last Fall/Winter, I feel real bad for her.

Were a large number of them previously uninsured? I would suspect as much.

I have worked with low income people before and it can be very frustrating. I would expect high lapse rates, but not that high.

What surprises me more is the agents on the forum who have said nothing about lapses. We are now 6 months into Obamacare and I would be shocked if the folks writing a lot of subsidized business claim they don't have any lapses.

I had 3 lapse but I lost a few that had reversed medicaid denials. Nowhere near what I expected. I had around 100 enrollments.

Nice breakdown on the 2015 fine: Currently the fine is not enough to shake anyone however in 2015 and most of all 2016 it becomes a justifiable maneuver to use in the sales process, hence: the $975 yearly fine for failure to comply equates to $81.25 a month... now all clients that say 50 bucks is to high the counter is well you can either pay the premium of 50 bucks or have the IRS snap you at 81.... Mr client, you make the call

these are for families...
