A noisy fuel pump is not an indicator that a fuel pump is about to fail. The way to tell if it is the fuel pump or not is that if it is the fuel pump you will hear it if the vehicle is sitting still with the key on. If you don't hear when you are not moving it is not a fuel pump. If you only hear it when you are moving have someone check the wheel bearings.

SUV is the way to go. Has room, looks nice, can be very expensive but they don't give off a vibe of "snobbery". It can impress someone if you need to. But at the same time it can blend in and just be a vehicle with no bling.
It is the safe bet when concerned about what people think of you based on your vehicle.

I do think you are on the right track. Young and driving a Mustang could give someone the wrong impression. They take insurance serious and they dont want to buy from some kid living at home in their childhood bedroom earning money to go to the Kiss concert.

I'm driving a 1998 Lexus GS300. I only have 125k miles on it.

I had an Infiniti FX45 new for almost two years but I could literally watch the fuel gauge go down as I drove it down the road. Hell I think I was lucky to get 12 mpg. Then gas was approaching $5 per gallon. So between gas and car payment excluding insurance I was paying $1,000 per month (about). I said the hell with that and I'll just drive this 98 Lexus till it dies but it's in great shape and best yet it's paid for.

I have a great mechanic I met on Craigslist a few years back and encouraged him to get his own shop which he finally has and he and his wife and some of his friends have life policies with me.

He put brand new air in my Lexus for $500 and just put a new computer in my gf's Toyota MR2 for $50 after I bought it for $130 on eBay along with two coils and reprogramming of computer. We tipped him too of course.

I run Amsoil full synthetic for oil and Lucas gas treatment almost every time I fill the tank.

What year was it? I have a 2011 FX35 and average about 20 miles per gallon. Which is better than I was getting in the Tahoe (about 15). Even with premium gas in the FX35 I am spending less money on gas than I was on the Tahoe.

My 2004 GMC Envoy 6 cylinder gets about 16. :swoon:

I traded a Lexus RX350 for a 2010 Honda Element, perfect for a drummer who lives on the beach. :1laugh:

Hands down my favorite car I've ever owned since my 72' Lemans Convertible back in the long haired 80's days!

.
Flew an American made Cessna 172 today:) What Cessna have you been "driving" lately?

Current car is a 2006 Lexus GX470 that I bought used three years ago. Best car I've owned to date after my 1969 VW Bug!
