I have to chuckle when I read about agents wanting to "do it yourself" when it comes to SEO and other aspects of using the internet. Hey, this is a wake up call, unless that is your specific area of expertise then why would anyone want to do it themselves?
If an agent is so good at doing things like that then why are they wasting their time trying to sell insurance? Selling insurance is work!
Selling insurance is a real business and should be treated as one. Real business professionals concentrate on what they know and do well. That enables them to make the money to hire other business professionals/experts to do those things that they cant.
The amount of time invested/wasted by a novice trying to do everything themselves could be put to better use by making money.
Dave is a real business professional that has a tremendous amount of expertise and knowledge in what he does. It does not cost to have him do your SEO it pays huge dividends.
However, if an agent thinks that because they own a computer they can "do it themselves" who am I to discourage them. The more crappy websites there are out there the less competition there is for agents like me.

Agreed. People like Dave, Val, Alston, New Guy and others really know their stuff. You can learn from them and it will pay big dividends. But they will always be helpful.
