I am not a big producer. I average maybe $5000AP monthly. FE is not the only market I target, plus I am semi-retired. I do not order leads weekly because #1 they are hard to get in my area and #2 it usually takes me at least 2 weeks to make contact with most of them so I place 1 for 2 orders a month. Most of time I buy direct from the vendor. Very few times have I bought from my FMO. So I figure if he makes 20% overrides he is making $1000 monthly off me for little effort on his part.
Then today I get an e-mail from my FMO about Monday's training call that states "Without committing to leads every single week, you are wasting my time and your time". Wasting his time? Should I be asking for a release?

Don't forget, they also make an override off all the renewals.. With some uplines, they will make as much each renewal year as they do the first year..

If you are any good at all, and know how to work hard in spurts, go indy. Cut the strings. Give him a call and tell him that you no longer want to waste his time...

I am independent. He just holds most of my FE contracts.

I think you're taking it a bit too personal. I suspect, and again only my suspicion, this is an email that went out to everyone. I imagine he is trying to get the people suffering from analysis paralysis to act. There are countless agents who will suck up an IMO's time with no return, and I bet this IMO wants to get them to either step it up or move along. I presume the override you generate is in line with if not in excess of the time you take from your IMO?

Yeah if it was you personally that wouldn't be cool but maybe he came off weird sending that.
I write maybe 1 FE policy a quarter and I never get a complaint.

Like I said I am not a big producer, but whatever he makes in overrides is 100% profit unless an IMO has to pay fees to the carrier for me to park a contract.

And these FMO's say they don't make anything off leads. :fibs:

Sounds like he gave you the invitation to have releases. I'd grab them and get with a FMO that's not a lead vendor. I agree with Life Hawk, tell him you don't want to waste his time any more.
