What Would You Say ?

I sell medicare supplement insurance and purchased a mailing in which I have received about 30 leads, so far. The lead card was referring to the changes in the medicare that are going into effect in June 2010 -- in your opinion, what would you say to these leads to get an appointment (or what has been your most successful statement to use)...i don't want these expensive leads to say "just send me something in the mail"....

I am looking forward to hearing your expert response....

Re: What Would You Say???

My wording would be, "Hi Mr. XXX, my name is Chaz Mulherin and I have in front of me a card you had filled out requesting info on the new changes to medicare supplements in June. I represent multiple companies and I would like to sit down with you and go over what these changes mean to you. How's Tuesday at 9?"

Something like that....might change it a little after I tried it a few times though.

Question, how many cards did the company send out? and i assume you are not in Alabama, what state are you in?

And with the wording on those cards, you probably will get a lot that say, "send me something in the mail". My response would be, "im not ever sure what to send in the mail, I need to know more information before I can make a recommendation to you"

Thats actually a pretty good price...im just kind of skeptical about doing the wording that you did. It sounds like it could be good but you will get a lot of people that don't want to be bothered.

Ive had good luck with mailers of T65's but if I could get your mailer for $375 I might have to try it out

Whats the exact wording on the card?

Re: What Would You Say???

I personally hated the mailers and think they are a waste. Many times, seniors are bombarded with this type of stuff and complete multiple reply cards. Often they don't remember completing the card or they have already gotten it handled by the time you've made phone contact with them (especially the T65 crowd). If you can make it work, more power to you.

Re: What Would You Say???

I sent out a mailing several years ago and the subject was changes in Medicare for the coming year (2007 I think).

Great return. Over 4.5%. But nobody cared about insurance, just the changes. Waste of time.

Now I target my mailings and talk about saving money on their medicare supplement or add benefits like dental, etc.

My last two mailings to duals in one corner of CA generated a 10% and 7% response.

Re: What Would You Say???

^I too have done the one with the upcoming changes...but those mailers were pretty generic to the changes to part A ded. and co pays. I did not like those mailers

If this mailer notes that their are 2 new plans to lower monthly premiums, I would be more open to sending that
