Gentlemen,

I was thinking about going for my PC license...but want to make sure i know what i'm getting into before spending 1k in school and 2 mths of full time schooling to get my lic.

I have my Life, health lic....and basically every bit of business is totally self generated. Its a tough road...and there is no support. One of the reasons i wanted to get into an office environment and produce from a desk where i could be part of a team.

WHAT'S EXPECTED
What percentage of business is typically generated by cold calling and marketing vs. in-house leads?

What will companies expect me to do? I was hoping that the phone would ring...and i could pick up some business that way. But to tell you the truth...i've never hung out in a PC office so...i'm not sure exactly what a typical PC agent does during the day.

your constructive input is greatly appreciated!

Where do you live, P&C as an indy is a very hard road. You don't have to spend 1k on the school. Just like your life/health license. Pre-test on line, then the state test. Or go with one of the big hitters. And get free trainning.

thanks mack,

In my state (fla)...you are required to take 200 hrs of education in a classroom setting (or an online school)...and then pass the class test. At that point...you get a certification that you have completed the hours. Then the state will let you sit for the State Exam.

Are are saying that a beginner SHOULD go with a Large Agency...or an agency that will sponsor them for the schooling and test?

My thinking was that i should get the license...and then find an employer.

Am i wrong?

PS. I want to work at an agency...and not be independent like i am now.
