Which Way to Go?

I currently am a broker writing primarily health insurance. I have been contacted by several Senior Insurance companies offering leads and all the right things. I have been licensed for approximately 1 year now. Would it be wise to jump into the senior market & leave the individual health insurance broker side to become a captive agent. Or, should I simply become a broker with the senior product companies & supplement that with what I already do?

Take the later. Talk to Frank or Hoosier Daddy.

It is going to be very difficult today for an agent to achieve a great degree of success in the senior market being a captive agent. The market is very competitive and seniors buy based on the premium cost.

It isn't necessary for you to leave what you are currently doing in fact I would not advise it. You will be presented with opportunities to sell underage health insurance.

I believe what you are going to find is that selling Med Supps are so much easier and less aggravating than underage health that you Med Supps will be your primary focus and you will want to supplement that with underage health. Add Final Expense to your Med Supps and you have a winning combination.

After you become proficient selling Med Supps you may also want to add Annuities and LTCi. There are many opportunities to cross sell products in the senior market.

If I can help, give me a call.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity to pick your brain if you would not mind. I need to jump start this business quickly & don't have any money to spend for leads. Have some marketing in place, but moving way to slow for my family because I started while already behind the 8 ball. However, I work long & hard. When would be a good time for me to call you, if you would not mind? Thanks so much!

There is no time like the present. Give me about 15 minutes and call me at 573.624.8338. I definitely have time to talk to you now, however, my afternoon is going to be kind of busy.
