I've used 1and1.com for years and have no complaints. My website runs me under $10 a month and is user-friendly to edit, add links and tweak. I designed my site using their templates and I'm no rocket scientist.
Yeah, 1&1 all the way. I've been a freelance web designer in my not so abundant free time for several years and I've always recommended them to my clients. Great customer service and their plans are always competitive. I have hosted websites with them for a decade now and have zero complaints.
I have used hostpc my entire time. I also tried yahoo hosting and it was ok.
Host PC is awesome in my book. I currently run 12 domains on there, including one that is a 700 member firearms related forum. Never an issue. =) Also, any time I needed help, they have been there. With data centers in TX and NY, you can pick one closer to your local.
I agree with what you say about GoDaddy. The response and load time has been slow for my sites. I think I know more about their backend functioning than their supposed 'technical support' team.
Go Daddy should be your last choice, Unless you spend the cash for a Dedicated Server, but I doubt many will pay for this, and will never need it. Sounds Good, but Individual websites do not need this.
If you dont understand how to Target the Correct Keyword Phrases, having a a dedicated server is just buzz words. Realize some just like to impress others and sound important.
