Who's Right?

Open Enrollment Period... January 1st -March 31st it's a time for Seniors to change their plans to another "like" plan.

For instance, Medicare Advantage Precription Drug Plan (MAPD) to another MAPD. Or a Supplement with a PDP.. is considered a "like" plan... because it's got the coverage plus a drug plan.. like a MAPD.

Yes and NO. A person may exit a MA plan and return to Original Medicare... that is also like to like.... the lack of drug coverage remained the same. A person could exit a MAPD and just have Original Medicare but they would have to elect a stand alone PDP... like to like... they had drug coverage and still have drug coverage. If they buy a supplement or not is not an issue or consideration in either case to satisfy the like to like requirement.

G. Gordon, you're much better with words.. I was meaning... like to like, I just didn't go through all the different scenarios. Didn't want to sound like a know it all! :) At least it's covered!

I'm excited about my meeting with that fella today!!! Yippeeee, I'm getting referrals already, and Seniors know me in WalMart now! I've had a few walk up to me and ask if I was that sweet little southern belle selling Medicare! lol... kinda cute and funny!

I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all either, but clearing up your statement that a supplement with PDP is like to like... the supplement is not a requirement.
