Why Do So Many Agents Want to Sell Final Expense?

I enjoy it. I sort of do it part time, and sell other stuff part time. I need to build my debit book, as a matter of fact. Thanks for reminding me. { I found a non-captive debit company. Only one I know of in the whole USA}

btw, when I say "it will all go away.." I mean the hype and the advances... not the Final Expense. Some people did not get that...

Columbian Life has a non-captive debit policy.

Does that make two or is that the one?

No, but I do like big 1970's cars, like the merc marquis and the lincoln continental!!!

LOL..........That is good. I remember when I first got in the business my old boss was an ex-debit man. It takes a different breed of person to do what you do........

Do debit route people still wear a purple plaid sport coat and hide in the bushes? My grandmother use to tell me about you guys.

I guess I am older than most here... there are vivid memories of the debit ins man stopping by when I was young. We didn't have much activity around the house in the form of excitement, and it was a thrill when Henry stopped by. He was the nicest man, God rest his sole.

It is funny the things that you remember, but what I remember (like it was yesterday... except it was mid 50's), is he had his collection book, and he had all these wide rubber bands around the book... just so-so. He would write very small in his ledger book, very neatly, like an acct. I was impressed by the simplest things... some things never change...

Final expense is a great market, if you have(will take)time to pursue it. There are a lot of clients out there that want small wl policies and they are going to buy them from you or somebody else.

The only disservice that I see is when these people are put into GI FE products but would have qualified for something less expensive.

I've had older health insurance clients that have done the large fully underwritten term and Ul thing, but were at a point in life where they wanted a small burial policy, separately.

All of the experienced agents know this and they also know there's a ton of money to be made doing it. Changing your game plan and taking the time to do it is another story.

This is a great thread... worth the 5 min to read all the posts.

I had a friend doing a debit route in Richmond and Oakland before we meet at NYL. :err: He was a great guy, but he had some great stories. He was a big guy, but I think it must have been scary out there.
