Would You Buy Your Insurance on the Phone?

some of the people that cancelled were perfect customers...they were going from they current company to mine and saving 30-60 dollars per month.

now remember, this was my first month in this business ever, in insurance, in sales, on the phone, etc...

basically, they were giving me excuses that told me they were scared of changing.

Sounds like the new clients felt uncomfortable buying from you after they hung up and thought about it, even with saving $30-$60. Almost impossible to have your results. Are you telling us the truth?

I bought insurance over the phone once, renters insurance from travelers. A year later they informed me they would begin auto drafting my bank account for the premium depsite the fact that I paid annually and never told them I wanted to pay any differently. I called them to tell them no, and they told me no worries, they'd just send me a bill. I moved, and planned on lapsing the policy and never thought much about it. A few months later I looked at my bank statement and realized they were drafting premium from my account from the policy.

Surely you meant only 1 cancelled.

I like that your site is focused on your Free Quote and phone number .... it's like all I see ... that is good for seniors ...

Are you staying in touch with them after the sale? Checking in. Sending notes ... that sort of stuff?

Anyway, good site ... it's straight to the point ... "Call me for a quote ..." It's like the rest of the page is blurred out ... was that on purpose? Whatever? it's cool.

hey, thanks for the feedback on my site! I really appreciate it!

well im new to this site and i dont want to start off with people thinking that i am lying on my posts.

My first month in sales was awesome...in the terms of taking applications...but only one of them followed through with paying for the premiums the next month. All those apps were taken over the phone. I am sure I messed up with something or other because it was my first month in sales, insurance, phone calls, etc.

this month has been much much better and i think its because it was with outside appointments and i had a manager there with me 80% of the time.

oh and jody108, YES of course that was on purpose. The purpose of absolutely eveything in that site is to make them call me. i am glad you think it is working and is cool!! :)

Buyers remorse sets in somewhere in the 48-72hrs after the sale, they usually wake up in the middle of the night thinking "why in the hell did I do that my insurance always pays my claims."

Some of those people will call right away and cancel. Some will just pray they get declined or hope that you never call again and some just think they wont pay the bill and it will just go away.

I have found buyers remorse can be greatly reduced by just giving them a quick update the next day, this way they see your still thinking about them. And keep in touch through the process.

This is what works for me selling annuities and its very rare someone cancels, when I keep in touch.
