1-Year Aged Life Insurance Leads

No such thing now. They may be exclusive to one vendor but the same lead went to several sights when shopping. Many agents will be calling the same lead. You have to be the first.

Then you have the agent that quotes everyone preferred just to get an app. You try to give them an honest quote but they believe the other guy. Term is a very competitive market. Agents from all over the country are calling the same lead.

As @billyb said, there is no such thing as an exclusive lead. I create my own leads . . . they are exclusive to me but they have also looked at websites . . . attended seminars . . . and talked to other agents before (and after) talking to me.

An aged lead, especially one that is a year old, is a cold call. Even leads 60 days old could be considered a cold call.

If you are the first agent to call the lead you may get somewhere but if you are the 10th then you will get an earful.
With leads that old you can't call most of them because they will be on the DNC list. You have to door knock aged leads.

When does a direct mail lead become an aged lead ?
3 months ? 6 months ? 9 months ?
I have written business on cards in my possession for over a year in areas saturated with mailers and asked the client if anyone else had been by and they said no. I door knock all cards.

Have any of you bought 1-year aged life insurance leads?
What has been the experience?
How many leads, and how often do you buy in a batch?
Thanks!

Yes, I have used aged leads. Some where even older than a year. And yes I have had success.

I believe the key to these types of leads are f2f sales, don't call them, go see them. Some of them have moved or passed away during that time. I mean really, they died!

Buy them on the cheep, dress up and go knock the door. You will be amazed if done properly the response. You will need to tailor the approach a bit, but once you are in the home, a lead is a lead is a lead.

We talk so much about leads of all types on the forum, but really a lead is just to get you over that little 3 inch threshold between you and the guy at the door. As with most things pertaining to this profession, most of what you have to overcome is in your head.

Now it depends on you.

A year old FE lead is much different than a year old term life lead. I would not waste my time with aged term life leads.

Never ran aged term leads. As long as you can get a sit and carry a low baller it might be worth a small order. I think the value in the process alone would be worth the shot if your budget and time would allow. It seems to me the skills this could cause a student of the business to hone might be worth an initial effort.

And then again, I'm the guy that enjoys knocking cold doors on a nice day. Definitely not today! Too dang cold.
