2009 commissions

Sweet, looks like its going to be open season on Humana since they went from 0 premium to $ 38 in this area. They sent troops of agents in my county in 06 and wrote everybody and their brother. This year its going going to be like shooting fish in a barrell. My phone has already been ringing.

does anyone know what UHC is paying for renewals for old business?

About an hour ago, got a call (not official until Monday), but UHC at $400-$200. At least it seems it is better than most the others. Of course, what agents have to remember is that all this has to be approved by CMS. Who really knows? Six months from now the dust may settle.

I'm really wishing Coventry had a good plan in my area now....too bad it's only humana.

Thankfully there's med sups, and no CMS with them :spinny:

Ok... now I'm starting to get upset. I'm realizing that I'm about to work for a couple of weeks for the sole benefit of my clients and due to the ignorance of my governing body... I'll actually LOSE money.

I do a monthly newsletter. About 80% of my clients are on Humana's Enhanced drug plan. The dang premiums doubled this year, generic copays almost doubled, tier 2 went up $15 tier 3 hit $70. Coventry has their Value plan... $23/mo, $8 generics and $24 tier 2 and $55 t3.

No friggin rocket science to see the value in Coventry's plan. It is looking great for a ton of my clients that have already called in their drug list. Most are on a few t1's and maybe one/two t2's... add that savings to the $180/year in premium savings... it can make a big difference to a senior living on a fixed income.

So by the time you count my time, postage, lost renewals on the plan in place... I'm losing money to help my clients. Don't even get me started on the clients I'm mailing packages too that are too far away to drive to... those take extra phone time.

Silver lining though... I picked up six new medicare supplement clients this week "helping" my clients... referrals are golden.
