3 Juvenile Deliquents

The only thing that has really changed is the date on the calendar. Running mail leads and selling over the phone are relatively new ways of marketing the product but the product hasn't changed. In the old days it was called Industrial Insurance, today it is called Final Expense but it is the same product, only with a different name. The people the product is sold to haven't changed.. They still think the same and act the same.. The persistency probably isn't quite as good today because agents no longer collect and everything is done on bank draft. There is no relationship building as there were in those days. The reason people buy hasn't changed. In other words, the more things change, the more they are the same.

If you doubt that people aren't the same today as they were in the 50s, 60s, 70s etc. look in the mirror. We had disrespectful, know it all jerks back in the day too. Oh, we also had a wonderful tool called a dictionary back in those days. Might want see if you can find one. It is evident you have no idea of the meaning of the word, "friend".

There is still a bit.

a 4 leaf clover that has been picked before... guys like you I used to F$^& in the military for fun.

Not sure how this all came about and I don't care. The only thing that makes me chuckle is stating what he supposedly did for fun while in the military. Those who did stuff in the military don't usually speak of it (especially in an internet Forum). Those who speak of it typically were the guys left behind in Garrison due to a profile.

I was not sober.

Yeah.. But you don't work in the same manner as many of those that primarily run leads. And, even you can't build as strong a relationship as the agent that was in the home no less than once per month and in many cases, once per week.

True and true. I can tell pretty quick when someone has a strong agent.

Yeah back in the day, agents did crazy things.. They attended every funeral, they visited the new mothers and their babies within a week or so of the birth.. if they didn't go to visit them in the hospital. They made sick calls in the hospital..Took home enough vegetables out of client's gardens every week that the wife almost never had to buy any at the store during the summer.. And, during the winter, there were canned vegetables, relishes, etc. Oh, and then there was the homemade wine and occasional fruit jar of white "likker".. But then, there was no need to spend money for leads or other prospecting methods. If you had a small debit, you might have to make a few cold calls every week but those with large debits made their living out of their book.. and many made a very good living even with a "times' commission contract. (thank goodness I never had to work on one of those)

And you brought them home in the buckboard you used when visiting clients.

Forgot to mention that when I was in school, we didn't have the buckboard..(that only came about after I got to selling FE insurance and making the big bucks).. I walked 5 miles to class each day............ barefooted...........in the snow ........ uphill both ways.
