5 Star Final Expense

So 5 star is the only carrier I actually have to fax application to. I hate that! Every other company lets me scan them, save them as pdf and use a secure email on their website to send it in. This kills 2 birds with 1 stone for me, since I scan all my apps and save them on my computer anyway.

So anyway, I had an epiphany today. I wondered, why can't I just fax the file from my computer through my fax. And I can. And I bet most of you that have a printer/fax/copier can as well.

When you go to print a document, it will pop up that screen where you pick how many copies, landscape, portrait, etc. You can also pick what printer to use. If your printer/fax has this capability, you can choose your printer as a fax and fax straight from your computer. (My printer is an HP6500, so when I clicked on the drop down menu, I saw HP6500 Fax, chose it and faxed from there.)

How did you get to know them?

I used to do some outdoor television. Jeff worked for the Wazoo Sports Network at the time. We were negotiating an outdoor show. They were only doing traditional sports up to that point. The deal never went through though. I think Wazoo might have went under by now?? I know Jeff isn't with them anymore.

Just use ringcentral or efax or something and do the exact same amount of work. You use your scanner to scan the document to a PDF file. You still use your email to send the app but instead of it being just a straight attached PDF to another email it's a PDF that Ringcentral converts to a fax and sends for you.

For example when I send a fax I simply create a new email, attach a PDF (or Word doc), and the email address is [email protected]

So from my end I've just sent an email like normal but ringcentral on their end handles getting that PDF/Word doc to the receiving fax line.

Most people use a fax program on their computer. Ring Central is a good one.

FYI
Keeping client information protected under HIPPA unsecured on your home computer is a dangerous thing to do. If your computer was ever hacked , stolen, etc, you would be in serious trouble and a huge liability issue.
