9 Commission levels?

Yup. That and I am not doing the 'you make an offer, I counter, then you counter' bs. What can you offer? Sounds good or thanks for your time.
Yelp.. And if you ask someone their best offer, I assume what they say is the best. When I was dealing in antiques, people would ask me for my best offer on something and I would give them an answer. If they make a counter offer for a lower amount, I would tell them, "No. I am not going to make a liar our of myself. That was my BEST offer."

No need to let them beat around the bush. I just say, "do you have (insert carrier) and what do you offer?" If I've gotten a better offer, I say so. Many will match or beat.

For a new agent that doesn't know any better, your grid gives them an idea of what "street" is.....for some FE carriers.

I know Jose's in your downline and he posts commissions like you do. He's got the best commission for Settlers I've seen in a while. Can you you match it?
But what if they say, "we pay STREET which is XX%". Do you hang up on them because that's deceptive?

I just think it's a common practice that should not be used. Yes I think you are fair. But an agent that just heard of you for the first time doesn't know whether you're fair or not. And he shouldn't have to get to the point that he's ready to sign a contract before he gets a copy of the commission levels.
i'm not really as concerned with how IMOs think it should be done. I'm more focused with her agents think it should be done. And I bet if you ask 100 agents whether they would prefer to have exact commission grids in writing early in the conversation or just to be told that you'll treat them fairly or Street Level that 100 out of 100 prefer the numbers.

Settlers is on my 140 grid.

OK we have two grocery stores.

The first one doesn't have any prices on anything in the store. And anytime you ask and employee what the price of anything is they just tell you oh it's just regular price. They give you a print out when you get up to the cashier what everything costs.

The second store has prices clearly marked on each product.

Would anyone honestly prefer to shop at the first store? Even if the first store had very competitive prices it would still just irritate the shit out of you wouldn't it?

That's how agents see the commission Easter Egg Hunt.

This is so dumb.

The first store has people outside the store asking the cart pusher what eggs cost and the cart pusher says, I don't know, go inside and ask. And then you do and you get the price.

What I'm saying is using the word "street" doesn't mean you have your cart full before you get the cost, it just means that you need to look inside the store before you fill your cart up.

No one said that saying "street" means that the commissions aren't disclosed (well, you're saying that). We're just using it as a term for fair and competitive comp. So when people who use that term as generalization and you call it deceptive, it irritates the shit out of us.

"Street" = Commission Level you can get with no production. As an agent, that's what it means to me.
