Accompanied an agent the other day that used the Settlers Big Check a little differently... At the close, the client was hesitant.. He took the check in hand and told her.. "When you die almost everybody that calls on your family will have their hand out. The funeral director has his hand out wanted to be paid, the Doctor has his hand out wanting to be paid, the hospital folks have their hands out wanting to be paid, It is the same with the cemetery, the folks that open and close the grave, anybody that you might owe money to.. everybody is going to have their hand out, including me..The difference is that all those other people will be empty handed... Me? (Holding the check out to her) I am going to have a check in my hand so you family will not have to worry about all those other hands"

He tone was very sincere tinged with emotion.. The sale was made. Might not be the way you want to do it but for the new person that is having problems closing, try it, it may help.. You can use any sample check .. Doesn't have to be the Settlers check. My friend just happened to be presenting Settlers at the time.

Would the Settler's Big Check work if you were selling Equitable or ACI?:laugh:

Nice way of presenting it. The big check is no longer printed so snatch them up if you want one. The Covered book replaced it.

I want to try the big stack of cash. I have some bills that look very real. The next time someone balks at adding $3,000 for the same premium, I'd like to pull that out as a visual and start stacking up $100 bills. And say, just tell me when to stop.

My educated guess is that it lapses inside of 3 months.

Even so, that is three months of commissionable premium he didn't have before.

I'm not much for playing at emotions, but he walked out with something versus empty handed.

I am trying to figure out why some apparently think it is bad to use a close like that. Why do people buy life /FE insurance? To make sure the bill is paid when they die and not burden the family.. All that agent did was reinforce the number of bills involved.. which almost every body discusses during their presentation.. and present a visual of how the insurance would take care of the problem. If visuals didn't work in sales, all the companies would be spending the huge bucks on radio instead of TV.

Same reason FE phone sales will never work. Or FE internet leads. Or POS/no POS. Or delivering policies, not personally delivering policies. Or only using A rated companies, no rating is OK. Or Door knocking does not work, only door knock. TM leads will not work, TM are great. Or XXX is the best IMO and system, YYY is the best IMO and system. Fraternals are da bomb, only sell really guaranteed Whole Life polices. ULs are not guaranteed, Some ULs are bad...... ..............
