A Different Take on the Big Check

Same reason FE phone sales will never work. Or FE internet leads. Or POS/no POS. Or delivering policies, not personally delivering policies. Or only using A rated companies, no rating is OK. Or Door knocking does not work, only door knock. TM leads will not work, TM are great. Or XXX is the best IMO and system, YYY is the best IMO and system. Fraternals are da bomb, only sell really guaranteed Whole Life polices. ULs are not guaranteed, Some ULs are bad...... ..............

You are always saying things like that as though you read them here. But the fact is that the only I've that drivel from is you.

I don't even know what your whine is about. Just a whine to whining I guess?

When you are right, you're right.

The nature of the forum. Each post should be started with "In my opinion" and it would all make more sense.

When one says it's a "guess" is that not saying it's opinion?

I guess that is an opinion? :twitchy:

Oh and are being serious? One form or another of that stuff is exactly off this forum.

Edit: Stuff changes all the time. Methods and what a person says is the best as well. Have yours stayed the same from one year to the next?

Well then I call BS. I'm on this forum everyday and I've never seen anyone say those things as absolute except you.

But the agents that don't sell FE for a living do seem to be the ones with the most advice on how to sell FE.

That's the ticket though. Just base one's business on the aberrations. Doesn't matter anyway. 90% of them will be gone this time next year.

As far as the op, didn't settlers scrap the big check thing anyway?

Yes, Settlers scrapped the big check, small check.. but the agent wasn't using it in that manner any way. And, I did make the point that any type of sample check would accomplish the same thing.. Even a copy of an actual claim check with the payee and notations blacked out. Or, as Newby suggested .. cash. The point is, the insurance agent is the only one that will show up with something in their outstretched hand other than their hat.

And, if you look back at the old threads you will see there was a time when each of the things Wino mentions was said. I can remember people saying that Telesales would never work in the FE business and that the people who claimed to be doing it were not being truthful. There was a lot of discussion where several people said that an agent should never use a company without an A rating from Best. The fraternal debate continues until this day. There are still some that say setting appointments by phone will never be as good as door knocking the leads (even though appointment seems to have served you and many others on the forum very well) .. In the long run, as Wino is saying, whatever is proposed, there will be someone that will stand up and say it will not work.

That drivel is an aberration, a failed business model. ;)

I call BS on you too then. Prove what you claim. I've never any such posts. They should be easy for you to provide if they are as plentiful as you say.

I understand some posters, such as yourself, read absolutes into people's opinions.

I still haven't seen the posts that you claim to have seen. So, prove me wrong. It should be easy.

More whine. But if that's all you have then whine on.

I think you must have me mistaken with someone else I rarely speak in absolutes. It it would also be pretty silly of me to tell someone else that something wont work just because I can't do it.

And I have said many many times I am not at final expense agent. I am however the pretty good life insurance agent. This month I have sold life insurance from $500,000 down to $5,000. But no FE. Not sure TA, SNL, Gerber or UH even sell FE.

Lol, this has been entertaining.

Wait, I got this....in my opinion(I hope I'm doing this right), if you have to use a gimmick..whether it be a Big Check, fake money etc...you are doing it wrong. I'd like to hear from other guys writing over, let's say $20k a month chime in and say that they use some form of gimmicky crap. Now I know Rouse and Newby are out. I'm pretty sure Wino doesn't have to resort to that type of garbage. As for me, and yes, believe it or not I qualify ;) you wouldn't catch me using a gimmick to close my sales...I agree with JD...its recipe for a chargeback

Now JD, that is just hurtful.

Unless what you meant to say was " More wine. But if that's all you have then wine on." In that case Hell yeah brother! I think I will, bourbon on bro.
