A Positive Thread for Positive People

Dave's ride when selling FE. He pulls up and people say, "Where do I sign"?"

Ruin --

FYI -- I closed the 10AM -- our first appointment Wednesday -- around noon Thursday.

Too bad you weren't here to see it. It was a classic FE prospect. Let me paint the picture...

I drive up, 3 people are outside, 2 are sitting on the porch, the other is fooling around with the window around the corner of the house.

I walk up and introduce myself. The lady I'm after is sitting in the left chair -- she's a 70 year old black woman, glaucoma oozing out of her right eye, 2 to 3-inch *real* finger nails (dirty, too), hair fro-ed out and straggly with dirty clothes on. Her 44-year old daughter is sitting in the opposite chair on her right side.

After I introduce her, the 3rd lady comes up and literally barks at me. I kinda do a double-take, but keep my composure and smile.

I sit on the front porch across from the 70-year old. Every time the wind blows it blusters the scent of rotten garbage from the house into my face; the door's literally 8 feet away from me. And, when I peek into the house, I can see another straggly fro peepin' out from the corner. When I make eye contact and smile, he retreats.

Anyway, after 20 or 30 minutes about the lady telling me how she's getting sued for a car crash, I get into the pitch. She's got plenty of life insurance but wants a little more to leave behind for her kids. She has COPD and takes insulin. AND she chews; has tobacco streaming down her chapped lips and hairy chin.

Because I had to run another appointment, I come back and close her on a Forethought Graded plan for around $40 a month (yes - she has a bank account).

Eventually I found out the barking girl has mental issues, and the peeping fro is the lady's 50-something son who lives with her -- think he's crazy, too.

I just hope it sticks. Too bad you missed the fun.
