If u were an fmo and provided a service to agents to get converted under you why would u release them to another fmo and lose their biz?

This isnt a merry go round industry. Quit flipping fmos just because u arent getting leads or whatever

Because they promised to and should abide by promises made, in writing or otherwise.

As an independent agent, I will use whatever FMO I want, and change FMOs whenever I want.

They work for me, not the other way around.

No. That’s not my style. I haven’t usually had anyone leave over comp. Usually they want to do something different. Wealth planning, phone sales, or a few have needed to go to the free lead-low comp type stuff. I don’t hold them up.

I haven’t really had much issue with comp bidding.

Pinnacle never releases - they had my UHC before my current which btw won't release any of mine right now. I had to ask UHC for the 6 month termination thing.

At this point I am not so sure any more. In a certain sense we are all "captive." The regulation is in place to discourage agents/agencies to move their contracts.

You are only captive by choice. If you are not happy with one FMO and they won't release you with a certain company, find another company.
