AARP for Final Expense

I can see where clients could get confused.

""The Program offers whole life and term life insurance plans that feature affordable premiums and valuable benefits designed for people age 50 and older.""

AARP Life Insurance Program

Then you get to their quote page.

""Premiums are not guaranteed.""

AARP Guaranteeed Acceptance Life Insurance from New York Life

Ah, the fine print..

""Both NYLIC and NYLIAC pay a royalty fee to AARP for the use of AARP's intellectual property. These fees are used for the general purposes of AARP.""

The AARP Life Insurance & Lifetime Income Programs from New York Life

All said and done, I like that AARP is spending advertising dollars and setting seniors mind set to buying Insurance. Inventory.

I agree. I have no trouble replacing AARP. In fact, I would rather the prospect have AARP than no policy at all. If they have AARP I know they are buyers. I love prospects that already have insurance. If they could all just have LH, Old American or AARP it would be nirvana!:D

I hear you. I do not run into Old American. But add Primerica, Allstate and Farmers and Cha-ching!

Primerica apparently has a bounty out on my head- I kinda feel sorry for this one agent... I keep replacing his policies .. everytime I review a clients policy its the same guy.. I feel bad for him..had a mgr from there call me a couple times cursing me out...

anyone ever come across Farm Bureau's annual renewable term? I love that stuff. Replaced another one today.

State Farm is my favorite. Everyone thinks they bought whole-life but it's always way overpriced UL with no guarantee.

AARP is a good product backed by the strongest Mutual Insurance Company in the U.S.A. Keep replacing these products kind sirs, but are you really doing your a client a favor? Or doing yourself a favor?

That part of the company does not stand behind AARP branded NYL term and UL.

it's always doing the client a service to get them out of that crap unless you put them into some other kind of crap.

Putting a client into a whole life policy for FE vs leaving them ina term or UL is a no brainer.

It seems as though many Independent Agents have the wrong mind-set---To merely,"TARGET", AARP consumers and bad mouth the Agent who sold it to them seems to tell a little about yourselves. Lets not try and fit a square cake into a round whole. NYL may not directly back AARP, but the name alone is what people want....not some Schmuck Agent trying to give them the best deal with a B rated company. Just sayin..
