AEP Marketing | $10,000

I'd demand the physical lead card mailed to you. 95% of mail houses resell the leads or give you older leads . The reason you demand the physical mail card is to see the return postage date . Also on any lead card make sure the client has to list their age and not date of birth . Ages Change yr to yr put date of births don't . So they could be selling you a 2 yr old lead with dob being used . Avg response rate on a lead in Fla will be .8% or so . If you hit 1% thats good
Lead cards are being digitally scanned in. Mine for 90 days then no longer exclusive afaik.

It has an age box on the card not DOB so that's good.

Yep. Agreed. Was hoping someone had the magic bullet.

I did 8 educational seminars between August and March of last year. The 4 I did in March were abysmal. Literal 4% conversion rate on 100 attendees. Didn't even break even.

Most just there for the free food acting like vultures who haven't ate in days.

Considering a library setting from now on.

Now the Seminars I did August 2023 had a 30% conversion rate, same presentation, same places, same company doing the mailers. All about the timing of the year I guess.

Just frustrated as its my second AEP and I really need to hit that 250 number by next year or I'm going to have to get a FT corporate job somewhere.
One thing I learned.....don't ever offer them ANYTHING, aside from basic coffee/water. These types of people are only addicted to free shit. They aren't actually there to hear you at all.

Some people just love free shit or having some place to go. By not offering anything on the flyer, the people that do show up will ACTUALLY be there for the insurance you're offering.

I also agree that seminars are a giant waste of time. I ran 10 seminars in 2023, and about 7 people total showed up. I closed 2.

It was a GIANT waste of time. The carrier paid, which is the only reason I did them, but if I was paying.....forget it. HUGE waste of time and money.

it was in reference to Chaz. I won't spill the beans anymore than he likes. I'll leave that up to him.

Too many pages to read to catch up but you should do webinars/seminars on your own. You don't need Fl Medicare 101 to do them. I was doing in person seminars by myself before I joined them and it was easy.

That said, I couldn't figure out the FB ads as good as they do for webinars. But, get going with libraries. That's 100% where I would spend my money. Forget AEP clients. Get those T65's.

My seminars have about 30 show. 2 t65 seminars a month. One with 10 the other with 20. I haven't done one in several months but I wonder if it was your location.

T65 seminars are definitely not a waste of time in Orlando

@Chazm are your webinars all done "live" or are they prerecorded and run to look like they are "live"? Most of the people on FB running webinars are all prerecorded. However I always wondered how it would do if I just advertised a LIVE webinar and had a 15 minute Q&A at the end would go.

Mine are done live. I do record one each January and send those to referrals who call me about starting Medicare soon.

I ask people at the end if they have questions but you don't really want that. You want them to schedule a phone call. We use BigMarker and I'm able to put a "call to action" button where they click to my Calendly.

What part of florida? Maybe super saturated like others have said. Florida is weird I get crushed by DIY type people in aome areas and I have other area just a few miles away where I am the answer to their prayers.

I get the "physical" leads back all the time for our agency and they don't have postage dates. And, I wish they'd save a tree and never mail them too me.

Save the $10k and use it to live off of next year so you don't have to get the FT job.

Got clients? Ask them for referrals!

Got a phone? Pick it up!

Got comfortable shoes? Hit the pavement!

Got time to watch TV? Get off the couch!

The Medicare business is get rich slow.
For most agents it's:
Year 1: eat Ramon noodles
Year 2: eat McDonald's dollar menu
Year 3: eat at Chilli's
Year 4: eat wherever you want
Spot on

This sums up FL. One area may be saturated, but right next to it may be a big opportunity. T65 & New Movers are still good audience segments for outbound and Lunch & Learns still work, but you need to narrow your segment and provide a niche to stand out.
