Aetna AOR Question

Hi, The GA I used to work under continues to steal my residuals from Aetna. He made all of his agents take apps with his name as the AOR. I think he got in trouble for that. Can I simply contact those clients and send them an AOR form to sign off on? I am now directly appointed with Aetna as a broker. Thanks

You may find that the agreement you signed this the GA prohibits this, which could cause you legal issues. Usually when you sign up under the GA is when you will need to properly understand how the AOR is set-up.

Also some carriers will not allow an AOR change within the first year of membership.

Not sure about Aetna, but United makes you wait a year to move anything to a new AOR.

Thanks, when it came to Aetna there was never anything signed. He just told us the % on the residual and we used Aetna as a back-up for declines on the primary carrier. It was his way or the highway. Think I should contact Aetna directly to see what they say???
