AFib /Irregular Heartbeat

I keep seeing agents asking about conditions that would normally be declined. Cigna is taking a lot of conditions like that now. If it helps, here is a list of those conditions that they'll take now...

Newly-accepted health conditions includes:

›› Alzheimer’s disease
›› Angina
›› Angioplasty
›› Atrial fibrillation
›› Atherosclerosis or arteriosclerosis
›› Cardiac pacemaker
›› Cardiomyopathy
›› Carotid artery disease
›› Cerebral palsy
›› Chronic bronchitis
›› Chronic lung or respiratory disorders requiring the use of oxygen
›› Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
›› Chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD)
›› Cirrhosis of the liver
›› Coronary artery disease (CAD)
›› Dementia
›› Diabetes with neuropathy
›› Diabetes with retinopathy
›› Diabetes with vascular disease
›› Emphysema
›› Heart valve surgery
›› Hepatitis other than hepatitis A
›› Implantable or subcutaneous defibrillator
›› Irregular heartbeat
›› Myasthenia gravis
›› Other liver disease
›› Parkinson’s disease
›› Peripheral vascular disease
›› PSA levels greater than 6.0
›› Senility
›› Stent placement
›› Systemic lupus
›› Transient ischemic attack (TIA)

Greg, you need to check the Rx against the underwriting list. Had a guy today he could answer "no" to all the questions on the Equitable app.

OK, so what med's?

Norvasc and Lisinopril.

Both used for CHF and/or CAD.

Well, I had 5x bypass 3 year ago but no problem now.

No problem except Equitable will decline you.

Back to your lady, Sotalol will get her declined.

Well she's on sotalol, amplodopine, lovastatin and meloxicam...I'll check the rx against the auto-decline rx lists

I should have also mentioned that the substandard rating is not available in all states yet, but is available in AL, AZ, AR, GA, IL, IA, KS, LA, MS, NC (12-1), NE, NV, OH, OK, PA, RI, SD, TN, TX, UT, WI (12-1), WV and WY (12-1).

Anyone know of a med supp that will take a senior that had cardiac ablation surgery in 2013 to correct Afib? Still takes sotalol beta blocker as precautionary, but says no longer has Afib.

So Cigna accepted her on a G but rated her up. So we declined.

Medico accepted her on Plan N at preferred rate and household discount! Happy client...saving over $1000 annually!

Medico... the most unpredictable carrier. They turn them down for recent diagnosis of high cholesterol, approve them with Afib. Go figure. Glad it worked out.
