You're in Jersey. I'm in the Lehigh Valley, PA area and I know that if EFES is still around you can buy all the DM leads I bought through them in 2018 for pennies on the dollar compared to what I paid.
The ROI on aged leads is minimal but agents think they are making money because they didn't pay much for each lead.
You do as well buying a route list as buying aged leads at less expense. The aged leads normally have already been bought and called by several other agents. You can by a list of several thousand names for a few bucks. You can specify sex, age, income, etc. Some will even sort the list by mail route so that when you are in the neighborhood you don't waste time and resources hunting the next call. when you call, show a lead card sample and say, "you may have received a card like this in the mail (everyone has and you aren't misleading them by stating you sent it to them ) . I am the fellow that takes care of providing that information in this area. May we sit down and talk about it. " At 1 Penny per name, you will di as well as you will with 2 buck aged leads. JMHO.That's exactly what i am doing now...1000 drop mail and get the list of people and i door knock as many as i can! I figure that to use some direct mail leads to add on my list!
Aged DM leads are low cost for a reason.
They have been sold multiple times to agents who call incessantly plus knocking on doors until their knuckles are bloody.
Observation.
If they did not answer the phone the first 90x you called and refused to answer the door after 10x+ times showing up at their house at any and all hours of the day, they probably will never buy.
Aged leads are cheap for a reason. They are good if you need practice hitting buckets of balls at the driving range.
But until you get out on the links you are mostly wasting time and money.

Apparently their time is worth nothing to them.
You would be better off paying $20 per lead, closing 2 out of 5 than paying $1 per lead and closing 1 out of 100.
I'm a veteran who occasionally uses aged leads, but not as a primary source. I just use them for fill-in activity. A couple of years ago I bought all the .25c & .50c leads I could get from my two main zip codes from https://www.wholesalefinalexpenseleads.com/ (EFES's aged leads site). An experienced, knowledgeable agent can turn a sows ear into a purse. You can take a "bad" lead and sometimes make it work.
Aged leads for a rookie are OK if you need to practice hand to hand combat but they are not a gold mine.
But playing up the value of the leads is like telling a Class A rookie a major league pitcher is going to throw 3 fastballs down the heart of the plate and all you have to do is swing the bat.
