Agency That Specializes in Truckers

You need to learn DOT filings, depending on the size and type of truckers you are wanting to get into to.

I used to drive big trucks, had a CDL, so I can talk the lingo with them, so learn "truckers speak" LOL

As you may see that my name is b61mack, that was my first truck, i drove it coast to coast, back in the 70'S - 80's. My goal is to go after the truck market. But you have to find companies that will be competitive, because it will be price, price, and price, Progressive goes after the trucking market. as bert says, it will be high on service. Think about it, a truck pulls up to the pump. 2-150 gal tanks. $1200 please.

It is a very specialize field. The insurance company does the filing. Insurance companies, must give 30 days before cancelling for non-payment. Which i am sure you will be chasing clients to pay, and their will be alot of people showing up at your office at the last minute to safe their policy. premiums are high, full coverage plus a cargo policy, i am guessing 12-15000, per truck.

A lot of companies will not write over the road trucking, some E&O policys won't cover over the road trucking.

Over the road, coast to coast. local within 250 miles. If you say you are only a local company, but then go coast to coast, they won't pay the claim. Truck drivers not only have to worry about the motor vehicle record, but now they have a new safety rating on each driver. If they are DOT'ed. at a Road side check, truck scale, and if their truck is wrote up for a safety volation, it goes on the drivers record. Even if he doesn't own it. Another case of, big brother is watching,
