Agency That Specializes in Truckers

My first tractor was a b61 mack. Drove it coast to coast back in the 70's. Hauling auto's. With auto haulers, backing up is a no no. Because you have two cars over hanging in the back. We could go on for days telling truck driver stories. Once in a while a auto does fall off. Or you lose your brakes and drive up and off. oops!

Oh, I see people have posted in this thread. I made it like 6-8 months ago, it was a trucking ins. agy near me. I have my P&C. He keeps recruiting in cragslist for agents. Still, 6 months later, still recruiting. Thanks for all your responses, but I'm thinking he has a high turnover for a reason.

what are some of the carriers you use for long haul?

Since no one has responded to you, i guess i will. First and foremost dont spend too much time on the risk if their "Safer web" rating is bad... if they dont have their act together 9 times out of 10 Progressive will come in cheapest. I hate to write progressive but its better than not writting it at all. Id rather have 10% of a $21k account than nothing at all.

With that being said, we do Wesco, Northland, Sutter, Scottsdale, Progressive, Canal, Zurich and a few others that I have never actually placed business with. That is long haul

Intermediate and local, we do Financial Pacific/United Fire Group, AmTrust, AmCom/Wesco(which is just an exclusive program of AmTrust) Unitrin(kemper Specialty) Mercury, progressive, Victoria/Titan,CNA, Colorado Casualty

I dont have a ton of trucking markets but I believe we have access to all the right ones for the state we write in. CA, OR, NV and UT

By the way never pass up an MGA for trucking. Burns & Wilcox and Crouse and Associates in Cali and several other states have access to admitted exclusive programs which they and only they administrate. Sometimes the rates can be killer too !

no problem. I hope that helps.

If you dont already use the safer web and their company snapshot lookup. start doing so, there is nothing worse than finding a huge prospect, spending hours on the apps only to find out their DOT inspections are bad and dont meet requirement for a quote. That is exactly what happened to me when i first started.
