Agent Arrested and Convicted for Selling an Annuity.

If he files for BK will he be able to get appointed? I know every appointment app asks that question, but not sure if that is just to prevent advancing commissions?

Some companies ask if ever and some ask about the last 10 years...depends on the company. Like you, I'm not sure if this is for advancing.

The prosecution should be disbarred. The appellate decision even noted that they incorrectly changed jury instruction "with prejudice". Of which the judge didn't intervene. Glenn is a hero in our industry. He handled himself with class and did right by his client. Look, many are looking to nail us out of their own ignorance. His case getting overturned shows that there's still sanity in the world and we should feel good, very good in fact about what we do.

The most disappointing aspect of this whole case was all of the experts and agents in the industry including on this forum that were ready to hang him.

A lot people on this forum want to hang all annuity salesmen.

I actually am not aware of many that were ready to hang him so to speak. I am aware of some brokers who were happy to hear that an annuity guy got in trouble. In general, my experience has been that most everyone stood behind him with an exception of the insurance carrier that he sold for. But then again, you might have a much better grasp of this forum than I do.

But then again it was Allianz of all the companies out there I think many would drop the agent like a hot potatoe but I think Allianz would lead the pack.

I'm glad he was exonerated because clearly no crime was committed. I don't want to rehash all the events, but if I remember correctly from the thread... if an agent shows up at the bank with the client asking the bank employee to cut a check made out to the insurance company, what did he expect to happen? Talk about waving a red cape at a bull. Terrible judgment.

Why not instead take a breath, count to 10, and let the prospect cash out the cd and deposit it in their checking account... THEN have the client write a check to the company?

If I have my facts wrong, I apologize in advance.
