Agent Arrested and Convicted for Selling an Annuity.

Too bad he doesn't get the thousands upon thousands he spent in legal fees. Nor the lost income for that time period. And, even though the conviction is overturned, his name is still somewhat tarnished.

It's a shame he can't sue the prosecutors and be made whole.

He needs to look into suing for malicious prosecution. Problem with that is he'd have to come out of pocket since no one's gonna take that on contingency.

Since Allianz refunded the old ladies money...Glenn got screwed out of $14,000 in commissions and the old lady got screwed out of a $17,500 bonus plus any interest she would've gained in 5 years!

Congrats!!! This case had set a very bad legal precedent for all annuity producers. I'm glad it was overturned. Hope you can recover some of your losses and get your life back!

First he has to get a judge to declare him innocent. That pretty much never happens.

Also, if you read the decision, it was overturned not because they necessarily thought him innocent, but that the jury was given bad instructions. It does bolster his case that they didn't feel the evidence supported the other way in which he might have been charged, "theft by false pretenses" versus theft by larceny. But getting declared innocent so he can sue is anything but a slamdunk.

Assuming he isn't turned off by insurance and doesn't feel it leaves a permanent stigma, if I were him I'd go get my license again and try to rebuild my life.

I wonder what the court costs were, what a waste of taxpayer money!

Client received $197,256.00 in February 2012. Allianz gave her her principle back plus interest minus the bonus.
