I would absolutely look for other employment. That was a raw deal to start with and he didn't keep his word on leads.
Also, as a general rule in P&C, you should always get renewal commission and if you have to service your own book, that renewal amount should be slightly elevated.
Hope it all works out for you bud. Don't let this turn you away from the industry, just away from that position.
