Anthem Was Hacked

So that's now a whopping 90 million Americans with their identities compromised through BCBS's lacking security.

All we need is another division to get hacked and we can have an even third of the entire country's population compromised.

It was Excellus Blue Cross (N.Y.) this time.
Cyber breach hits 10 million Excellus customers

Has there ever been an investigation by the U.S. govt, or private company, into what effects these breaches have had on insurance customers? I suppose the hackers could be looking for specific things or people, rather than seeking to hurt millions of people randomly.

This brings it to an even 100 million Ray?

Allen,

Don't forget about the 1.1M from the CareFirst breach in May...

The Excellus one is funny, the hack started in Dec 2013 and was only found on Aug 5 2015. Excellus CEO Christopher Booth has the balls to say on record "The investigation has not determined that any such data was removed from our systems," "We also have no evidence to date that such data has been used inappropriately."

My running tally is at 101.6M for the minimum of what they've admitted to. They don't release the results of their investigations, so we'll never have a true number.
