Anybody else That cant Stand Monumental?

Well it's good to hear I'm not the only one. So right now I'm carrying 5 star Americo and monumental. I have RNA As well. Can't use them much though JD seems to still be writing them. But I'd like to take Monumental out of my bag. Any advice on who to pick up to fill the gap? I was thinking Forethought settlers or AmCon.

Re: Anybody else Thatcant Stand Monumental?

I will say that I can't be bought but technically I suppose you're right. Everyone probably has a breaking point where they will sell.

But that's just in theory. In the real world it ain't gonna happen where someone just throws money at you to find that point.

I won't say JD can't be bought but it may take some deep pockets. I only say this because of the situation where you did not take down your posts about a company and they dropped you. I realize it may have not been a favorite company of yours to use, but you knew there would come a time where you wanted to write it and now can't. Kudos to you for not backing down even though it would cost you money someday.

I haven't had nearly the random PHI problems like I used to as of late.

Once you get used to their underwriting -- and you make doubly-sure you will out everything necessary, clearly, and correctly -- they are OK to use. Not great.

I certainly would not recommend them to the new agent; only to the seasoned ones.

As someone who is just getting into FE, I looked at FinalExpense101.com about an hour before running into this topic on the forum. Crazy coincidence. There is an undated post that says Todd's Top Five Final Expense Insurance Companies and as of the posting (again, undated) Monumental is on it due to the, "...ease of underwriting." Also, on another post for Monumental his site says, "They have an easy application, no point of sale interview, and they are great for COPD." I know 1 or 2 of you also mentioned they were good for COPD.

Todd, are you out there?! I'd love your current thoughts on Monumental.

Thanks,
SAF

People will say a lot of things when they are recruiting.

The 101 website is run by a guy that didn't m ake it in FE and is basically a recruiting engine.

I would take anything from there with a block of salt.

Just received an email from Monumental advising how to avoid amendments(translation, do not make any errors at all on the application! Haha:twitchy:

Monumental actually reversed their decision on me. Originally they were not going to appoint me but with some arm twisting from my upline Todd King they changed their mind and are even advancing me. Todd is an excellent resource!

I think I'm gonna replace Mon with 2 companies, AmCon and Columbian. AmCon has similar rates for older folks and Columbian will do preferred rates on COPD if no O2 (from what I've been told).

And here in IN everybody has COPD. They don't even think its a big deal. I don't know how many times a day I start asking about any major problems, "No I'm super healthy" they say. "No cancer, stroke, HA, CHF, COPD..." "Oh Yeah I do have COPD, but that's not a problem..."

Monumental has been great with me. I have done about 35 policies with them this year and just did one today. The guy was a smoker, COPD, and was in the Hospital this year. Standard it is, no oxygen tank.

I have gotten everything issued without delays or issues. So far they have ordered 4 PHI's out of that around 35 app count.
