Anyone Have Experience Writing Provider Whole Life?

UHL provider whole life.

I had a lady today who wanted $50,000 of permanent coverage. She is a FE type client (just got foreclosed, filed bankruptcy, not good with her money). She is very healthy so I wrote her a GUL a couple months ago, but she never did the paramed and the carrier is closing the file. The best simplified issue FE I could find her was this product, rates appear very good.

However when I called underwriting to inquire on the POS process, she basically talked me out of even writing the case. She said they routinely order medical records, wanted to know if the BK had been discharged (it hasn't), and said that they really only want their agents writing this on healthy family members of FE clients (which I found odd). So I ended up writing her Monumental FE.

Anyone had any luck getting this product issued? Had a couple cases I could have used this for lately, but didn't want a huge hassle which it sounds like this product is.

I submitted on Provider application, thinking the client would be approved Preferred...That was my fault...

Like you alluded to, they wanted to order medical records, which turned out to be an ordeal, as the lady had multiple Gynecologists, and Physicians...UHL didn't want to pay for these multiple records, and only would make an express issue premier offer....I have never sent an app . in for this product since...

There's the problem. The provider is not a FE product. Don't expect the underwriting to be like FE.

No experience with that product but quite a bit with that company.

No surprise here that they would be difficult. That's what you get with Farm Bureau.

I hate UHL I wrote 6 apps with them 1 being the provider WL they were a nightmare to deal with I pulled all their apps out of my bag and never missed them.

well I'm glad I didn't fool with them. When she said not only did they routinely order records, but the client had to get them and they had no involvement in the process, I decided not to fool with it.

well I knew it wasn't traditional FE, but when it showed up on FEXquotes I thought that it would have simplified issue underwriting... which I suppose it does, but for all the hassle the client may as well go through full underwriting on a real product and get better rates (and better service)

Sounds like Provider WL, while it may not be FULLY underwritten it is underwritten and not simplified issue. FEX should take it out. Maybe start another category, an underwritten one and put it there and add RNA's whole life.

Leave it in. That's the kind of product that thins the herd for the rest of us. FE agents will go broke writing that stuff.

Funny you mention this. I was speaking with an IMO recently about this very topic. We will be adding another category for these type of products.

This product really shouldn't be written for seniors after I investigated further. They basically will want APS's on every client 65 and older, and THE CLIENT HAS TO GET AND PAY FOR THEM.

I'd rather write a fully underwritten product where the carrier treats the client with a little more respect, and has better rates.
