Anyone having issues with Settlers Commission?

Maybe it is just me, but I have been having issues with my commissions with them. When I have called in to the commissions department it doesn't seem like an adequate answer is given. Any one else being charged back on an active policy? Or just not receiving the correct commission amounts?

Well I can say is when I called into commissions I was more puzzled after my conversation than before I called in. I asked the woman if she has had a lot of people calling in on this and she said a resounding yes. So I bet this is a concern for quite a bit of agents, but they may be reluctant to mention it. I would keep an eye on it. But, at this point, since they are caput, what can you do?

OMG this makes me sick!! I just saw this! I thought it was just an oversight but I have not been getting commish that is owed to me. Dammit I wish I never used them now if this is right. Will I ever get my as earned or renewals?

You should as long as your pay is above the threshold and all balances are cleared. Be careful if you decide t replace any of the business you have on the books with them unless you are willing to lose all future commissions with them. They say they are going to vigorously enforce the forfeiture provisions of the contract.

The way I understood the letter, it listed your current debt and how much commission you are expected to be paid. They are going to use the commission to pay off the debt first. Then you will be paid the balance.

Your lender has decided to call in your loan early and is using the collateral to pay it off. This is what happened, so you haven't been cheated in the sense that you aren't getting paid. The lender is just making sure the loan is satisfied first. Perfectly legal, but definitely isn't going to win them any friends.

I would be curious to see what impact this has upon NGL's business. I'm sure more than a few agents who did business with Settlers also do business with NGL. I certainly would be reluctant to place any future business with NGL.

Let's do keep in mind that none of this is happening without the eyes of NGL on it. I've seen NGL pull some crap in the past, so nothing would surprise me with what they do.

Bontell and Theile always wondered why we wouldn't push NGL's Trusts at all. Well, this is why. I don't trust them in the slightest.

Certainly would not be handled this way if Mr. Walker and the Harmons were still in charge. They were folks with true class.

I will say, if I was winding down a company I would definitely recapture all outstanding advances before paying any other commissions. When you aren't accepting any new business, it is the smart thing to do. However, NGL is still accepting new business, and it is silly for them to pretend there is no connection between themselves and Settlers.
