Anyone Write for Erie?

BTFuzz,

Thanks for the update I'm happy to hear about the life requirement being gone but until I sign my actual contract I'll have to wait and see. I just signed the "mutual commitment" form this week that said I agree to have an "Erie focus" for three years. I assume I'm almost at the end of the process now.

From what I hear Erie will be a great company to work and sell for!

I don't know about other carriers but I have been thankful that I write for Erie several times this week.

You will really like representing Erie. The only complaint I ever have with them is their technology. They just can't ever seem to find an outfit to get their system up to industry standards. Other than that, they are the best! Good luck to you!

Thanks for the infor Fuzz. I know they are a great carrier as I have got my clock cleaned repeatedly by you guys over the last 17 years.

I write with Erie in NC and they are not as competitive as they used to be. They also pay lower commissions than most carriers(10% auto and 15% home). A few companies have started to get real aggressive on auto and beating Erie by 20-30%.... I have a feeling they will work on pricing because they are normally very competitive.

The only pricing complaint I have is their young driver rates sometimes are high....however, they are very aware of this and supposedly working on adjusting them.

I was always under the impression that they are competitive in most states until you get into ratings near big cities. I know Philadelphia rates are much higher than they are in central PA.
