Apex-Elite/American Financial Group, Inc

Through my research and a mistake on their part, this company, "Apex-Elite" is connected with "Senior Healthcare Consultants", a Dallas based company that has much written about them on the web in various forums. Please do your homework. If Apex-Elite is run the same way SHC was, then I seriously urge you to proceed with a tremendous amount of caution and healthy skepticism. "Caveat Emptor".

Not doubting you, but can you verify this? lf this is true, I was wondering how long it would take until SHC would create another name.

Jut go ahead and call 214-389-7020 and ask for Jessica @ Ext. 132. The 214 number above goes to directly to SHC. Then just ask for Jessica. When she answers, ask her to tell you about Apex-Elite. Pretty simple.

I just interviewed with MoO this week, and in general I would agree that they would be a place to start to get the training.

But, they stressed heavily on wanting you to sell a complete set of financial AND insurance products. I was told I would be required to get series 6 & 63 licenses as well as my L/H licenses.

Now, all that is great if you want to sell a set of solutions from one company. Also, MoO did not offer me the choice of concentrating my sales efforts in strictly the senior-market.

So, in my opinion, if you know the area of insurance you want to start in, I would focus on captive/non-captive opporutnities in that let you focus on that area.

I'm still in the process of finding the best opportunity and it has required a lot of work on my part - which I am glad to do. I've learned a lot going thru this process and believe I will make a much better choice/decision becuase of the "due dilligence" I've performed.

Just my 2 cents on this.

What was the offer from MoO? Was it 100% commission or a base salary plus commission? Wondering...

It is a decreasing base salary during your first year and is not a loan that you have to repay if you leave. You are paid commissions during the first year and the % increases as your base decreases.

I did not get into exact weekly base amts. or comm. % because I ended discussions with them after it became apparent they wanted a new rep to focus mostly on financial services and products.

Oh and FYI I know from my start in the biz 5 years ago that customer service for these types of places are always in house I started with a company called F&RHC outta TX not as shady but about as bad as these . SO Iam sure there having a little meeting right now about what to say and what not to say over the phone now . I love how when they answer its just customer service and not the name of the company since there is more than one company coming out of that little office in TX .
I have worked for Genworth not a bad company but they have restructured alot over the past year and I had a divorce going on at the time andd took time off . I am ready to get back in the game but you would think its like pulling teeth to get with a decent company with leads , a good reputation and products in my area . I hate to say it but about about to throw in the towel with this career . Anyways again thanks guys for saving me on this one !

I called the above number, it rang about 7 times and someone finally picked and said "customer service", I said is this Senior Healthcare Consultants Customer Service"? She replied whom are you looking for? I said Senior Healthcare Consultants? "That is us" she replied.

Stay way from these clowns.. This individual was very nervous that someone was looking for SHC.

If your in Ohio i can help you out. TLC Insurance Group can help you get started as far as getting you some of the companies you need to have to be competitive with everyone else. They do alot of training in house and with webinars. You can get into some good marketing deals they have with a couple carriers where they will supplement half the cost for you. They also have a couple of lead companies you can buy leads from that have worked well in the past for me. With AEP so close the last thing you want is to be captive. You would be leaving so much business on the table, and by selling one company you are not serving your clients best interest. After you contact TLC, go to Ritter and Senior Market Sales for GPM LIFE and Philadelphia American/ New Era, get licensed in two other states because no Ohio cold calling. The best leads your going to get are the ones you can make on your own, cold calling is still the most effective way to do it. The one thing you'll learn about leads is that 95% of the ones you'll call you have to convince them to listen to you anyways. The person who contacted them is a minimum wage employee and is not going to have the same knowledge you will. Telemarketing lead companies exist because cold calling works, and it will save you a bundle to do it yourself. All the training you need is right here in the forum, and in the books you get from the carriers. You really don't need the classroom training your looking for. Just the drive and determination to learn it yourself.
