Asurea Group

and their low commission structure pays for your 'salary'. To make 10k/mo you write 20k premium. 2k/base and 8k in comm.

I sat with and trained with them out of curiosity last yr. The assigning of commissions is the only catch I would shy away from
If they're offering a salary, then they have that right! I think most new agents would take the salary position if offered.

Generally sales positions that have a base have it worked in to what you need to produce to stay with the company...you aint gonna be there long (usually 3 months in most companies/industries) if you aint producing.

Ninety days or less! Which is why it makes sense for them to assign your commissions, if you wrote anything.

Recently got an offer from Asurea Group selling FE and Mortage Protection. They use in house direct mail leads which they claim are the best in the biz. I have done a lot of research on Asurea and I see some mixed reviews. I have a strong sales background but this is my first insurance position. Is Asurea Group truly churn and burn or is it a great entry level opportunity??

So, did you end up joining them ? What did you decide ?

I'm still weighing my options. I'm currently in retail sales right now and I'm being taken care of well by my company, I just can't stand the hours and lack of flexibility that comes with it, I'm nervous about the transition but confident insurance is where I want to go.

I could tell you what I know from my experience as well as experiences from others. I could post a copy of the agent agreement they make you sign. But I don't know if you'd really heed to sound preventive wisdom. There just seems to be too many "young" agents out there that want to go the direction that seems most enticing and not listen. The only thing I will say is don't do it. If you choose to still even with someone else's warning then that is on you.

It seems that every great agent was exploited at one point. I don't know of too many that had a smooth "upbringing". Perhaps Asurea is where you need to go to get your "training". Once you're done, you can hopefully join the rest of us and warn others. Happy hunting.

You should post or personal message me the copy of this agent agreement.

At the risk of multiple beatings, I will share my current experience with Asurea. The company has gone through a lot of changes over the past year and many of the things that are in this thread are no longer the case. Agents are now 1099 and commissions are not assigned. There is a lower commission rate structure, meaning that you will not make street if you are with them. The leads are in-house and are indeed good. They are not sold to more than one agent and are priced reasonably. The B leads are free and everybody has worked them to death, but I still set a few when I try them. The training is pretty good, well at least for me it has been but that will depend on your up-line. I think if you need training and are willing to exchange a portion of commission for a little structure, then it could be a great company for you. As in life there are many paths you can take and a lot of guys in here will tell you to go independent. If you already know how to sell insurance and are a great self motivator then that might be the right path for you but it is not for everyone so with that said I wish you all well in whatever you choose.

Now let the beatings commence.
