Let's say a life policy has 4 primary beneficiaries each getting an equal 25%. Do the beneficiaries have the legal right to know who the other beneficiaries are and the percent each is getting? Or does each beneficiary only have the right to know that they are getting their 25%.

They get a check... they're not even told what the original face amount was on the plan or who else may be listed as a beni. A beni has not rights on the policy. It is a contract between the "insured/owner (if other than the insured)" and the compay.

That has been my experience thus far.

There may be some situations where a will may list a life contract and that could change what information my be available.
