Best Company for Liberal Underwriting?

FE is unique as you need to have a cross-section of carriers to work with, as underwriting guidelines vary dramatically, case by case.

My top picks as of August 2013 are:

-5Star -- no diabetes + heart history knockout.

-Monumental -- COPD Immediate niche; obese niche.

-Standard Life / Lafayette Life -- low-price leader replacement niche.

American Continental -- Funky MIB results niche.

Gerber / Vantis -- Almost dead niche.

Am I the only 1 who caught that ^^ & thought it was HILARIOUS??

:D :D

Speaking of Monu, did anyone else here receive an email from them today (or recently) saying "A Monumental <pun intended I guess> Announcement is Coming Soon"?

It maybe the new TransAmerica product was finally approved in Cali if no other agents in other states got this! I was hoping that NEVER got approved!

It depends on how much of a haircut you want to take on your commission. A few years ago there was a book called Who writes what. Admittedly its not been updated, but that might give you a start.

Hi...ive seen several posts about not liking monumental. What is the main rason behind it? Ive worked with monumental for a long about 2 years and have not had a single issue with them. They approve my policies within 2-3 biz days....any info?

My reasons for hating Monumental:
The app is a mile long
They amend everything
High standard
They call your clients and try to double whammy you.
Very effective business prevention department

Monu, like many carriers, is *almost* there as being a go-to carrier, but its biggest shortcomings are:

-Application length -- cut it in half.

-Surprise PHI -- Should be required POS or not done at all; lots of extra time wasted chasing people down for interviews.

I have personally seen improvements in the amendment obsession, as well as the post-sale PHIs.
