No, it's the context of how you post that matters. If the premise of someone being here is for the sole purpose of recruiting I'm sure they'd delete a post, but in the context of his question, and no direct solicitation I'm sure itd be ok.
The idea is to assist eachother, crack a few jokes and learn from some really smart people who have likely walked the path before you. Build credibility and most wont need to solicit... soliciting awakens the troll in all of us lurking and waiting to pounce.

There was a large commotion over them misappropriating another person's software.. Then later there were threats made against some people... Therefore mention of them is banned.. as it should be..
