I carry a plastic clipboard with a compartment. I keep about 8 ap's, a very thin binder and my ipad. Pull up quotes on the ipad, yes fexquotes. It's very non-intimidating. Also have all the ap's on the ipad but can't get away from paper.

The iPad along with the paper app is a fantastic closing tool. I use the iPad for of course rates, but I also use it during a warmup. I find sharing some family pics puts people at ease. Also, many folks still haven't seen the iPad so I show them some neat things depending on their level of of interest. Once I am involved in the sales process, the transition to the close goes something like this..

"Even though the company uses all this hi tech stuff, they still make me do some things the old fashioned way with pen and paper (as I start the app..)

I have been thinking about changing the way I do things when I cold call. In the past I have always carried my briefcase with me and the lead info in my hand but as of late I have had a problem with people not answering the door when you know they are in there.

I am thinking about leaving the briefcase in the car when coldcalling. They might be more apt to answer the door. In the past this hasn't been much of a problem but as of late it seems to be happening more and more. Just maybe it's time to change areas. I been working Muskegon for about 6 months. Still writing good business but people who don't answer the door tend to piss me off.

Yeah, I stopped carrying my briefcase when I doorknock, just my clipboard now with my lead card. I find that if they let me in, I can go in & do a whole presentation without it (Using FexQuotes) & just leave to get app when the sale is made 90% of the time.....there's a few times, when im not sure that I have to get it sooner. But I havent had 1 case that changed their mind just cause I had to run to my car for 1min!

Briefcase at the door on a person NOT expecting u to come to their home is a bit scary!
