Briefcase?

Newby,

I think you are onto something there... really; using a large INS Co check pasted on foam core board, payable to "Next of Kin", Memo block: Final expenses death claim. Amlount $ 10,000, maybe more. While you stand there and talk to them at the door you are holding this big ole stupid check... it makes a subliminal statement.

Might not even be a bad thing to take in with you on an appt either. Just set that check next to you, making sure granny can see the check. Hmmmm Maybe a little hard core for some but I think I like it.

& just leave to get app when the sale is made 90% of the time.....there's a few times, when im not sure that I have to get it sooner. But I havent had 1 case that changed their mind just cause I had to run to my car for 1min!

Briefcase at the door on a person NOT expecting u to come to their home is a bit scary!

then if you have this set up it is a done deal......

I agree with NFL72. Cold-calling I often went light and casual with just a slim zip up folder while my briefcase (with wheels, laptop, apps, etc.) was in the car for quick access. On appointments...rollin out the Samsonite.

If you try that please let us know how it works. That foam check idea might not be a bad idea for any booth set up if anyone is doing any marketing at events.

On second thought I think that having a check that would fit into a briefcase or clipboard size, (instead of any obnoxiously large sized check... like they won the lottery type of check) the 7" x 11" sized one could just be exposed and quietly set on the table during the presentation... (subliminal message). I think I will do this and see what happens. You could even hand the check to them during the presentation, allow them to hold it or set it next to them.... (control). **I suppose this should or would need to be run past compliance if you were using the name or any specific REAL ins co on the check, which I would think to be more authentic.

This could be held in hand and exposed at the door too, depending on what is comfortable to the agent and their style.

What do you think the amount of the check should be? 10K-15K- or other? Payable to "Your next of Kin of "Family Member of your Choice"? Memo: Funeral Costs or Final Expenses or ?

I think some type of odd number like $13,000 with the memo reading Funeral Costs and Final Expenses.
