Broker Fees

Yeah I agree with you all. I saved a lady $600 on auto insurance and charged her no broker fee. I think even $60-100 would have been a reasonable rate to charge her.

She's saving way more than I'm charging, and that little bit she pays me makes all the difference in the world to my agency's profitability.

Look at it this way, If I'm saving you $500 dollars, does it matter how much broker fee i'm charging you? The bottom line is I'm saving you money.

I love Broker Fees,I cant wait till I have all the puzzles
together to start my own Agency, gots 12 years experience under my
belt slaving for a huge Non Standard company in Socal.

Yep,the slave ship we row for pays a measly 13% ridiculous
commission to its hardworking Brokers and 19% in Broker
Fees,in a couple months I say good riddance M_ _ _ _ _ _ uckers!!!

Never have and never will do broker fees. That is what the commissions we get paid are for. Unless of course you're a straight consultant.

Hmmm. If you're saving a client $500 AFTER tacking on say a $50 fee, and that client later finds out that he could've gone to another agent that didn't charge the fee and saved $550 vs. $500 with all things being equal - which one looks better in the client's eyes?

That is why you disclose everything. If you were paying $2000 annually and I offered you $1500, are you really going to be offended that I have a broker fee in there? It's all in your presentation. I have yet to meet an agent who does not charge broker fees. Granted on certain carriers you cannot, but on most you can. Am I wrong?
