Burned out Mortgage Banker Thinking of a New Career

Not that much... Well I guess these Senators had a better record than the 100 Senators in DC.

They were 6-3 on the year...

The football chat is all good, but anyone got advice on the insurance biz for me?

I'm talking to AmFam tomorrow and I am also looking into talking to MetLife.

I'm looking for a company with strong P&C because I think that's a great way to develop relationships. I have a financial planning background (Legg Mason 8 years ago) so I'd like to have the ability to develop P&C customers into financial planning client relationships.

Also, I've ruled out independent and need a company that provides group health insuance for a disabled child (autistic). I've had a hard time getting him covered through an individual policy in the past, you guys probably understand that more than I do at this point.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I live very close to the Springboro Pike office, do you have a contact there I could get in touch with?

Is Met's P&C competitive? If not, Can you broker to other co's for P&C
I'm confident with their life and financial planning products - just not familiar with their P&C.

You might want to speak to Cincinnati Financial, Cin Life Ins Co... Recommend you try to speak to Mike Dempsey, but you may not be able to start up the food chain that high. Mike is an Officer of the Co and Title is: Life Mkting Administrator.

Anyway, CFC has a program where they place life agents into existing P&C offices that have a relationship with CFC. They expect you to sell some Cincy Life products, but by no means exclusive. You would be a direct employee of the P&C offc. They seem to have agencies looking for life agents that are referred by CFC. With your fin planning experience it would be a good fit... I used to have one of those positions over 20 yrs ago, and it was great. Good luck on it.

Sure...plenty of contacts. I have been there since 1980.

Just a quick summary...two types of positions.

P&C Specialist where you write mostly P&C. I believe you have access to other carriers.

Financial Planner-You can write any product you want. The General Agency even allows you to write through many companies...ie Pru Transamerica etc...The new guys seem to get plenty of leads (group conversions, 401k rollovers etc...)

If you want, email me at [email protected] and I'll provide the name and phone number of who you can talk to. Interview process is tedious but worth it. I live in Springboro and there's nothing like being seven minutes from work!
