Business Card Advice

I'm getting ready to order business cards and I thought I would solicit some feedback. My main question is around whether to use a picture or not?? What vendors produce the best work and are highly recommended? I want something really sharp and professional. I understand all the logic around avoiding wild claims and misleading statements when dealing with seniors.

I'm thinking something short and to the point - name, contact info, and areas of specialty. I will leave off my address as I am working from my home office. I am leaning toward a picture to help brand my business and begin building a personal connection - they are ultimately buying me.

Am I missing anything?? Thanks.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Photos on business cards never impressed me .. They seem to add clutter to the card. (JMO) As for the address, before you print your cards, get a Post Office Box to use as a business address. Not only does it appear a little more professional, it will provide a more secure location to receive polices, commission checks, etc than is provided by the mailbox at your house.

I think the most important thing is to use a union printer. The work will be much more professionally done.

Vista Print (dot com) has come a long way in regards to quality and for way less than other printers. They do all my printing (business cards, rack cards, postcards, etc) and for less than half price of the other guys out there.
I don't usually recommend anything in this Forum but I have to give them their props for how they've improved over the years.

How much time and money do you want to invest on something that will be used to: pick their teeth, clean their nails, sit in a stack of other business cards, or be deposited in the nearest trash can?

Yes, you should have business cards, but you are your business card. If the prospect is more interested in the card than you, you're in trouble.

In my opinion, go with a photo. Avoid the classic cheesy pose, just a headshot for consumers to connect with.
