I did not attend the last SVAHU rah rah meeting but hear from someone there (RSM) that one of the people setting up the CA Health Exchange spoke about the exchange, navigators and producers. Apparently, there is talk that navigators won't be able to do enrollments, only outreach and that agents (possibly as hired employees, ugh) would be needed to do the enrollments. Something to that effect.

The funny part is that one thing that was mentioned was that since many people won't have internet access to buy health insurance, agents might be needed....now get this........

...to walk around in places like Oakland, Watts, Compton and so on with iPads knocking on doors to sign people up.

Oh, the future looks so f-ing bright :swoon:

You better have several iPads with you.

I read a report on the board for the Cali. exchange.
They stated they think the exchange is going to be for low income families. They also talked about the serious issue of adverse selection. The other big thing they stated was that the subsidies are going to come in the form of tax credits.

One thing they also addressed at that meeting is the apparent high income status for subsidy. Lower class, middle class and upper middle class income levels will all qualify for subsidy and will thus benefit from buying through the exchange. I was told that a family on 120k income will qualify for subsidy.

I just ordered 2 iPads. I'll be taking Rick with me to the 'hood to sell senior products to the grandma
